Dust off your ball gowns and top hats for the 27th Annual Montgomery County Executive?s Ball, the largest Montgomery County, Md., fundraiser benefiting the arts and humanities. Montgomery County, Md., is home to hundreds of arts and humanities organizations as well as three of the State of Maryland?s 19 designated Arts & Entertainment Districts.
The fundraiser aims to raise $100,000 for approximately 60 non-profit arts and humanities organizations in the County. The evening will include dinner, dancing and a silent auction, all benefiting programs that gave rise to such cultural celebrities as Goldie Hawn, Ben Stein and Connie Chung.
?Living in such an arts-rich County as Montgomery County, I think we sometimes forget that an enriching arts environment doesn?t happen by accident,? said Ball Chair Catherine Leggett. ?Several studies have shown the link between arts education and academic achievement; and if we want our County?s tradition of academic excellence to continue, we must also continue to invest in the arts and humanities programs that bring such joy to children and adults alike.?
Individual tickets are $125, and are available for purchase through December 6.
